Visitors enter the village by following a small path leading up the cliff, and through a short tunnel excavated into the rock. The medieval houses are partially integrated into the rock, and the view of the emerald-green, artificial lake, which partly covers the valley, is impressive. The best view of the area is offered from the church bell tower. Guadalest offers typical tourist attractions like souvenir shops, where you can find handmade local objects of art and other souvenirs. There are also some nice restaurants, and as many as ten museums! Museo del Juguete (Toy Museum) and Museo de Miniaturas, which specialises in curios, are just two of the more popular museums. Another museum is the Ethnological Museum that has a vide variety of farming tools, kitchen and household implements, and dresses from days gone by. Guadalest is just over 20km inland from Benidorm in the Costa Blanca region.
