broadway150The Cotswolds is often described as one of the most ‘Quintessentially English, unspoiled regions’ in England rendering it the perfect place for an amazing English holiday.

History is everywhere you look in the Cotswolds as the region houses numerous ancient cities like Bath that feature relics and monuments dating back centuries.


Established in 43AD by the Romans as a spa resort, Bath still attracts millions of visitors wanting the experience of bathing in the naturally occurring thermal springs. In addition to these monumentally popular springs, Bath boasts a thriving arts and cultural scene, top class restaurants, amazing Gregorian architecture and gentle English countryside.


Blenheim Palace is a must do on any trip to the Cotswolds as it is one of Britain’s greatest palaces. Constructed over 300 years ago, it is an excellent example of English Baroque architecture. Home to the 11th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and also Sir Winston Churchill, a tour of Blenheim Palace will reveal some of its many interesting stories that are guaranteed to keep you enthralled.

 

bibury300Oxford is here in the Cotswolds too – it is home to one of the world’s oldest and most famous universities but there are many other reasons to visit this stunningly beautiful city including its historic buildings, beautiful churches and cathedrals, fabulous markets and shopping opportunities, theatres and museums. Enjoy a punt along the River Cherwell or a leisurely stroll through the stunning botanic gardens. You’ll find cheap London hotels in this region that will be sure to make your stay a pleasant one.

There are also picturesque villages in the Cotswolds, the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else in England. Bibury is a classic example, charming and quaint it has often been described as England’s prettiest village. Arlington Row is one of the Cotswolds most photographed village scenes – a collection of cottages that were built in 1380 as a monastic wool store and converted into a row of weaver’s cottages in the seventeenth century. Other attractions include the historic Arlington Mill and the Bibury Trout Farm.
