Holidays to Europe is an online European travel directory that allows travellers to compare a wide range of options available to them when planning their holiday to Europe and the United Kingdom. My research, and my own experience, showed that it was very frustrating having to move from website to website every time I wanted to look up another travel option when planning my family's holiday to Europe and I wondered, why couldn’t all this information be available on one single site? To make it easier for other travellers to research their European holidays, www.holidaystoeurope.com.au was born! Visitors to the website can browse a range of (mainly) Australian or New Zealand-owned accommodation and small group tours that aren't generally bookable through travel agents, and read our travel tips, destination articles, blogs and reviews..
About Carolyn, Founder and Editor of Holidays to Europe
I first visited Europe in 1988 whilst working as a travel consultant – and it was love at first sight! After a 14 day Contiki tour, a Greek island cruise and visiting my boyfriend’s (now husband’s) family, I vowed to return and see more of this amazing continent. Twelve years later with my husband and two sons in tow, that’s exactly what happened and it has led to an even stronger desire to keep on exploring more of Europe.
So far, I have visited Europe on eight different occasions, adding up to many months of travel, each time sampling a variety of holiday styles - from camping and self-catering accommodation to living it up in hotels and resorts. I've travelled by train and coach, hired cars and cruised - all in the name of research, of course! To date I've visited England, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Holland, Belgium, Liechtenstein, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, with many other European countries on my bucket list!
In 2007 whilst I was starting to plan our family’s third European family holiday, I became frustrated when trying to find non-hotel accommodation for the four of us. I knew there were lots of apartments available (some even owned by Australians) but they weren't sold through travel agents and I was uneasy making bookings and payments to foreign websites. Realising that other Australian travellers probably had the same concerns, I decided to start my own business www.holidaystoeurope.com.au to allow travellers (both with and without children), to browese the widest range of European travel options.
Since the launch of the website, I have continually added more and more holiday options and resources to help you to plan and book your European holiday.
As I'm passionate about sharing my European travel experiences with others, I continually add destination articles, travel tips and reviews, as well as sharing my thoughts in a blog where I'd love you to leave your comments.
